Traversing Gil Puyat Avenue in Makati CBD

The Gil Puyat Avenue (formerly Buendia) is one of the busiest road if not the busiest road in Makati Central Business District (CBD), probably at par or exceeded only by Ayala Avenue. It is a long road that extends from CCP Complex in Pasay, passing through Taft Avenue, and up to the gates of Forbes Park in EDSA. Thus, some of its segments lie outside Makati CBD.

Some of the jeepney routes that pass through Gil Puyat Avenue are the following:

  • Jeepney terminal at SM Cybertwo: These jeepneys traverse the segment of Gil Puyat Ave. from EDSA to Chino Roces Avenue. You can reach SM Cybertwo by boarding a bus or MRT Train and disembarking at Buendia Bus Stop (Bus Stop A) or MRT Buendia Station respectively. Walk northward and you will see the queue of jeepneys along Zodiac St. between SM Cybertwo and Shell gasoline station.
  • Jeepneys along EDSA south bound in Guadalupe: These jeepneys have words “Guadalupe” and “Cartimar” in their singage. You can board these jeepneys near the EDSA Estrella Bus Stop (Bus Stop A) southbound side or in front of SM Cybertwo (they are the ones that are turning right from EDSA). You can also board them at EDSA Guadalupe Bus Stop (Bus Stop A) southbound but they usually do not stop there due to several buses stopping there instead. Sometimes, they form a queue at the cloverleaf road on the southbound side of EDSA just north of MRT Guadalupe Station, but at some other times, there is no queue there.
  • Coming from Taft Avenue – Buendia intersection: If you are coming from somewhere along Taft Avenue, disembark at Gil Puyat Ave. (also called Buendia) and board a jeep with “Guadalupe” in their signage. (These are the same Guadalupe/Cartimar jeepneys mentioned in the previous item but this time they are turning back.) You can also take LRT Line 1 and alight at LRT Gil Puyat Ave. Station. The best place to board a jeepney is in front of EGI Shopping Mall at the corner of Gil Puyat and Taft Ave. It is connected to LRT station but not all jeepneys pass in front of it.

Almost all sections of Gil Puyat Avenue that are within Makati CBD are barricaded with fences, preventing you from disembarking anywhere. The portions that are close to intersections are the ones that have no barricade. Listed below are some of the buildings that are along or within walking distance from Gi Puyat Ave. together with the information on where you need to disembark to go to them.
