Ayala Tower One, also known as Tower One & Exchange Plaza, is a skyscraper primarily used for office space. It was developed by and under the management of Ayala Land, Inc. With concrete as its structural material, the typical floor plate of Ayala Tower One is 1,667 square meters. It also has a gross floor area of 53,000 square meters and a gross leasable area of 41,870 square meters.
The construction of Ayala Tower One was a strategic response to the relocation of the Philippine Stock Exchange from Makati City to the Tektite Towers West in the Ortigas Center. Although Ayala Land’s attempt to keep the stock exchange exclusively in Makati City was not entirely successful, the building has nonetheless become one of the most prestigious office towers in the country.
Designed by the architectural firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP, Ayala Tower One is a tall, glass-clad skyscraper that stands prominently over the surrounding area. Its exterior is filled with numerous square glass panels. Adjacent to this towering building is a structure with a curved, ribbed underside and glass sides, which covers the entrance to the main building, while the perpendicular side has a facade of horizontal bands made of glass panels and supporting steel.
Ayala Tower One stands at the corner of Paseo De Roxas and Ayala Avenue within the Ayala Triangle block. To reach this skyscraper, board a jeepney that traverses Ayala Avenue. Then, alight at the unloading zone between V.A. Rufino Street and Paseo de Roxas, walk towards Paseo de Roxas, and use the pedestrian underpass there. One of the exits of this underpass is right in front of Ayala Tower One.
