This scenery is the interior of The Midtown, the recent expansion of Robinson’s Place Ermita. The mall expanded to the area that was formerly occupied Manila Midtown Hotel, adjacent to Robinson’s Place along Pedro Gil St. and also owned by Robinson’s Land Corporation. The hotel closed down on May 2003. It was subsequently demolished and the mall expanded to occupy the land where it use to stand.

The midtown boast lots of high end establishments such as Powerbooks, Starbucks coffee, Apple’s Digital Hub, Silicon Valley and Havaianas. This photo was taken from the corridor at the second floor near the side facing Pedro Gil.
